What is the Saudi Salary Scale?
The Saudi salary scale is the official table used by the government to set base salaries for public-sector employees. There are different scales for civil servants, teachers, health practitioners, university faculty and military officers.

What's the difference between a Grade and a Step?
A Grade is the employee's career level on the scale (1 to 15 in the General Scale). A Step (annual step / علاوة) is the annual increment within the same grade; each grade contains 15 steps in the General Scale.
Are the figures accurate?
Figures are taken from the latest published Saudi Ministry of Finance scale and are indicative. Actual numbers may differ slightly by ministry-specific allowances.
How much pension is deducted from the salary?
9% of the base salary is deducted from Saudi civil employees as pension contribution, with the employer matching the same percentage. Residents are exempt from pension contributions.
What are the main public-sector allowances?
Key allowances: transport (fixed amount), housing (25% of base when no government housing is provided), nature-of-work allowance (10–25% by job), and hazard allowance for some health and security jobs.
Is the new educators scale different?
The new teachers matrix uses four job titles (assistant/teacher, practitioner, advanced, expert), six career levels and in-level degrees where applicable. This app embeds the figures from the popular Beseyat reference table. Principal and supervisor pay follow separate regulations and are not in that four-title grid.
